Zavadnikov’s Synergy GT Is The Audi-Tron Sailing Series Champion A Day In Advance

4 October 2014

Genova, Italy - The weather conditions were more favorable on Day Two in Genoa than Friday allowing the delivery of the first two races of the 2014 Melges 32 Audi-Tron Sailing Series final act.

The event, organised by B.Plan Sport&Events in cooperation with Melges Europe and the Circolo Vele Vernazzolesi, hosted by the Boat Show piers saw a great number of audience interested in the Audi hospitality.

As far as sailing goes, Fritz Homann’s Wilma rightfully received performance of the day honors with an impressive 2-1 score, taking over the lead of the provisional Melges 32 ranking from circuit leader Valentin Zavadnikov on Synergy GT. Despite their less than brilliant sailing, they have managed to mathematically win the overall series a day in advance. This is a renewed success for Michele Ivaldi, an already awarded sailor at the America’s Cup as afterguard of Luna Rossa and winner of the last two RC44 World Championships.
