Inga From Sweden Currently Ranked First In The Blue Water Series

11 March 2016

After two Melges 32 Blue Water Series regattas in Ft. Lauderdale, the standings are tighter than anticipated and after the Lauderdale Cup in a few short weeks, the first ever Blue Water Series champion will be crowned.

Winning the Gold Cup and launching into first place in the series standings is longtime Melges 32 owner Richard Goransson aboard Inga from Sweden with a total of 6 points. Following just behind Inga is a pack of three teams tied at 7 points; National Champion Jason Carroll on Argo with a 1 - 6, Ryan and Dick Devos on Volpe posting a 3 - 4 and International Class President Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio on G-Spot with a 2 - 5 thus far in the series. The series title is up for grabs amongst 4 boats and not far behind the lead pack is another group of teams that will look to finish with a strong performance and round out the podium.

The Lauderdale Cup will take place April 1-3 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club and Bahia Mar Marina. This will serve as the final stop on the 2015/16 Blue Water Series. View Current Entry List
