29 April 2007

The final day of racing at the Melges 32 Annapolis NOOD was sunny and warm with a nice westerly breeze. Two races on flat water revealed ideal conditions for the fleet as Marty Kullman and Mike Carroll and their 'New Wave' team from St. Petersburg, Florida captured the first M32 East Coast Championship title!

With winds pumping 10-16 knots made for a great final day. Jeff Ecklund on 'Star' from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida came out swinging in race one grabbing the bullet. The Kullman/Carroll team took second.

In race two, Kullman/Carroll were determined to win. They tracked down Ecklund after many a heated battle they showed great boat speed throughout the regatta taking the win. Congratulations to Marty and Mike as they are 2007 Melges 32 East Coast Champions.

Saturday's overnight leader Rod Jabin continued to do well in Annapolis on 'Ramrod.' Rod chartered a Melges 32 for this event. Great sailing Rod and we hope to see you back again as you were a very welcomed addition.
