The 2018 Melges 32 World Championship is approaching...be ready to kick off!

MEASUREMENT CHECKS
Please read carefully this email with the Measurers' guidelines to get ready for the MEASUREMENT INSPECTION and kindly email the European Fleet Secretary or meet Giulia to book your slot!

In order to inspect your Melges32 before the launch, you shall prepare the boat as follow before the time you booked for the inspection:

#1) BOAT MEASUREMENT to be completed PRIOR LAUNCH
Be ready as follow:

BOAT:
- In dry conditions; hiking lines properly trimmed, attached with minimum 3mm high strength lashing and minimum 3 loops.
- The top keel plate must be removed for the inspection.

MAST:
Mast up

WEIGHING:
The Equipment Inspector will inspect your boat before the launch.
To check the boat weight please verify that it is perfectly dry; leave the keel crane and lift straps on; the weight shall be taken including the engine, mast, boom, bow sprit, rudder, tiller with extension and fixed equipment excluding sails, batteries, fuel can, all portable equipment as listed in C.5., sheets and Personal Equipment that includes:
- Throwable flotation device
- 2 buckets
- ancor with chain and warp
- First aid kit
- fire extinguisher
- batteries
- the 2 companionway hatches
- VHF Radio
- fuel can
- spare engine battery
- Electronic or mechanical timing devices
- Tactical and navigational instruments and their associated power sources.
- Water Bottle Holders
- Wind Indicators
- loose ropes, fenders, spares, internal buoyancy and safety equipment
- compass headings.
- bags, tape or fittings to secure safety or other equipment.
- etc…..

KEEL AND RUDDER
After the weighing the boat will be launched, you will drop the keel and the rudder; then the boat will be hauled out to inspect keel and rudder.

#2) MANDATORY PORTABLE EQUIPMENT
Please collect the form called “EQUIPMENT SELF-CHECK LIST”, fill it properly and hand it at the registration office before the end of the registration time. The Equipment Inspector will check your equipment after or between the races.

#3) MANDATORY PORTABLE EQUIPMENT
All the sails should be already certified. If them are not yet certified, ask to the Official Measurer before the scheduled time. Remove the battens from every sail. 
The Equipment Inspectors will stamp the sails only if them are valid.
The Equipment Inspector will keep the Sail Declaration form.
Please be ready to help the Equipment Inspector  with 2 crew members.
