Kahn Potentially Running Away With 2007 Rolex Big Boat Series

15 September 2007

4-1-1-1-1-1 is the current standing and almost flawless performance of Philippe Kahn from Santa Cruz, California aboard Pegasus 32. Kahn mentioned after the first day of racing that he had the best 'out-of-town' crew. The results are proving this to be true. He now stands front and center, first place overall going into the last day of racing.

The standings after today's additional two races is almost a carbon copy of Friday with the points only spreading the competitors further apart. Not a lot, but just enough that if mistakes occur forgiveness may not be in the cards.

Five points further back in second place overall is Joe Woods from Torquay, UK on Red. Woods improved his performance to 2-2, versus yesterday's 3-3 but it still wasn't enough to catch Kahn. Also hanging on to third is Richard Leslie on Southern Cross delivering 4-3, a mediocre day in comparison to previous days in the results. He is four points out of second place in third.

San Francisco locals Caleb Everett on Stewball held onto fourth and Stephen Pugh on Taboo remains in fifth. The points spread is slim but evident going into the final day of racing at the 2007 Rolex Big Boat Series in California hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club.

1.) Philippe Kahn, Pegasus 32 = 9
2.) Joe Woods, Red = 14
3.) Richard Leslie, Southern Cross = 18

4.) Caleb Everett, Stewball = 22
5.) Stephen Pugh, Taboo = 28
