COMPETITOR ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 5 : Measurement, Weighing & Bow Numbers

MEASUREMENT

WEIGH-IN

Weigh-in for the 2010 Melges 32 World Championship will be conducted on the following days at the St. Francis Yacht Club from 1000 until 1700:

Monday, September 13
Tuesday, September 14
Wednesday, September 15

Additional World Championship weigh-in times are Monday, September 20 from 1500 - 1800 and Tuesday, September 21 from 0900 - 1700.

SAILS

Every competing Melges 32's sail inventory will be checked and randomly measured. Sail Measurement will commence on Monday, September 20 at 0800-1200 and again from 1300-1800. Teams are required to reserve a time slot on the quarter hour with IM32CA Administrator Joy Dunigan via this e-mail.

At the time of sail measurement, each team must be prepared with:

  • A completed sail declaration form with your sails properly measured and buttoned
  • Produce your sails at the appointed time with all buttons showing
  • Two crew members must be present per boat to facilitate sail measurement

BOATS

Measurement for all participating Melges 32s will take place on Monday, September 20 & Tuesday, September 21 at St. Francis Yacht Club. Please review section 10. MEASUREMENT AND WEIGHING within the NOR for further details. Boat measurement will start promptly at 0800 - until each day. Teams are also required to reserve a time slot on the 1/2 hour with IM32CA Administrator Joy Dunigan via this e-mail.

BOW NUMBERS

Each team has selected a unique bow number. These numbers are now available for pick-up in San Francisco via Melges Service Agent Jim Condon. Jim will be stationed at KKMI in Sausalito until Sunday, September 12 until noon.

Instructions will be provided for application — make sure these are applied correctly so that the fleet looks supersonic sharp!
