Audi Melges 32 Sailing Series In Maremma Tuscany At Marina Di Scarlino: Racing Kicks Off On Friday

For the third consecutive year the Audi Sailing Series Melges 32 returns to Marina di Scarlino with racing scheduled to kick off on Friday. This is the second leg of the circuit and more than 20 boats have registered. Flags from France Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the USA and Italy will be flying at Marina di Scarlino with some of the best tacticians battling it out in a breathtaking setting with the Islands of Elbaand Montecristo serving as a backdrop to three days of racing.

American Pieter Taselaar at the helm of Bliksem with Australian Jeremy Wilmot calling tactics is back after having won last year’s Tuscan event, as is Samba Pa Ti with John Kilroy at the helm and Nathan Wilmot in the afterguard. Cameron Appleton will be calling the shots on Carol Jason’s Argo. Eyes on British Highlife with Stuart Robinson and tactician Scott Ruairidh onboard and on German IMMAC helmsman Christian Soyca.

Cruette’s French team Teasing Machine will be hosting the owners gala dinner at the Col di Sassofarm stay while Dutch ROARK will be offering cocktails on the dock to celebrate the Queen’s Birthday.

Among the Italian teams Vincenzo Onorato’s Mascalzone Latino with tactician Francesco Bruni, B-Lin Sailing Team helmed by Luca Lalli with Lorenzo Bressani, Sei Tu 32 owner Antonello Morina with Paolo Cian, Lanfranco Cirillo’s Fantastica with Vasco Vascotto in the afterguard and Fratelli Audi Giacomel helmed by Alessio Marinelli with Riccardo Simoneschi calling tactics.

On Thursday, after measurement operations are completed, a practice race is scheduled and the skipper’s briefing to be held in the Piazzetta at Marina di Scarlino. First warning signal on Friday April 29th at 11.30. Last day of racing Sunday May 1st
