THE ARGENTINIAN DONINO IS THE NEW LEADER OF THE STANDINGS IN THE MELGES 32 EVENT OF RIVA DEL GARDA

Riva del Garda, July 6, 2019 - The number of races completed in Riva del Garda during the third act of the Melges 32 World League increases to a total of six and the general ranking finds a new leader that responds to the name of Donino by the Argentinian owner Luigi Giannattasio, with the Majorcan Manuel Weiller calling tactics.

At the eve of the final day, Donino finds himself at the top of the overall ranking, after a series of races that has seen continuous changes in standings both at the top and in the rear. The leitmotif of this stage is (once again) the great balance within the fleet of the Melges 32 World League, as shown by the six different winners in the six races held between yesterday and today.

The regattas of Saturday begin with the success of Torpyone by Edoardo Lupi and Massimo Pessina (with Lorenzo Bressani on tactics) preceding Donino and the Monegasque G.Spot by Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio (with Michele Paoletti on tactics).

The second race bears the signature of the Melges World League Champion in charge Giogi of Matteo Balestrero (assisted by Matteo Ivaldi) that precedes Torpyone who, with this partial scire and with the negative results of the most direct competitors, is temporarily projected to the command of the general ranking .

The third regatta, won by Calvi Network of Carlo Alberini (with Karlo Hmeljak) in front of the Polish Casino Royal of Waldemar Salata (with Tomislav Basic) marks another change at the top, also thanks to the discard of the worst result that came into play upon completion of race 6; Donino (third in this regatta) finds himself in front of everyone with a good margin (6 points) compared to Torpyone and 8 points against Giogi. Mascalzone Latino, the leader of the first day now occupies the fourth position (14 points from the top) with a single point of advantage over to Calvi Network.

Tomorrow the decisive day will provide the final verdict of this spectacular stage and above all it will give a physiognomy, perhaps radically new, to the ranking of the circuit whose leader is currently the Russian and twice World Champion Tavatuy who, for the first time since the beginning of the season, is struggling out of the way, not managing to enter the top ten and leaving the direct opponents precious points for the seasonal ranking.
